About this recording...
This CD is an adventure into territory that is not often explored. On 2 days in July several musicians in Epiphany gathered at a church in Salford with the desire to 'capture' some of the sounds and expressions that have become the hallmark of many of the events we've put on over the last 3-4 years. Although we had a few 'pre-written' pieces that we planned to record, much of what you'll hear on this album was completely spontaneous at the time of recording - music from our hearts and from the Spirit within us. This is not background music or easy listening music. It is music that paints pictures of life and of life beyond life - a CD which is very different to anything any of us have recorded before!
This new album contains 10 tracks of completely new improvisations, as well as 3 beautiful classical pieces ('Meditation from Thais' by Massenet, 'Intermezzo' for solo piano by Brahms, and 'Storm Clouds' by Sam Williamson).
We're really excited about this recording and hope you'll also enjoy listening to it!
